COOL CLASSROOMS ON TOP OF MP’S LIST

PUMICESTONE MP, Simone Wilson wants every student attending schools in her electorate to receive the very best education and this means ensuring they have comfortable learning environments to begin with.

“We believe that cool classrooms are conducive with good learning outcomes and this is what we want for our kids”, Simone said.

“Let’s face it, it’s hard to concentrate on hot days when you are stuck inside a sweltering room with fans circulating hot air, our kids and teachers deserve better than this”.

“This is why I am calling on the Palaszczuk Labor Government to match the LNP’s commitment to air-condition every state school classroom in Queensland”.

Simone does not believe it is the responsibility of parents and citizen associations to have to fundraise to install air-conditioning in classrooms.

“This is something that Government needs to address not our hardworking P&C groups who struggle as it is to raise funds”.

“It is time that the Government put our kids first, stop with the political point scoring, listen to the needs of the community and keep kids cool in their classrooms”.

The LNP will take a commitment to air-condition every state school classroom to the next election in October 2020.
