Jump on the soul train and enjoy irresistible Motown tracks in Redcliffe Entertainment Centre’s latest offering The Sapphires.
Spokesperson for Lifestyle and Amenity Councillor Denise Sims said she encouraged locals and visitors not to miss the opportunity to see one of Australia’s best-loved stories.
“When I saw the movie for the first time, I remember the music being stuck in my head for hours on end afterwards,” she said.
“If you like Motown and theatre then make sure you save the date for this energetic, fun and engaging play.”
The Sapphires tell the story of four young women from regional Australia, who like singing country music and suddenly get the chance to change their tune, their clothes and their lives.
Wearing uniforms of sequins against the backdrop of Vietnam War uniforms, they armed themselves with a microphone spreading joy with their unique voices.
Councillor for Division 6 Koliana Winchester said it was a coup for Redcliffe to offer the award-winning play to the region.
“The Sapphires is really the icing on the cake following our refurbishments to the centre,” Cr Winchester said.
“So if you haven’t been to the centre why not make it a double treat where you can enjoy a great play in a brand new comfortable and relaxed setting.”
The Sapphires open Saturday 23 March. To book your seat and get all the details go to: https://www.redcliffeentertainmentcentre.com.au/Events/The-Sapphires
