Emergency Plan Now - "Get Ready Queensland" Simone Wilson MP Says

Queensland has been in the grip of the most catastrophic fires, endangering communities and alerting us all to be prepared, to have a plan, and to be ready to act if and when needed.

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services’ “Get Ready Queensland” guide helps households to develop an emergency plan as part of the important step to prepare for what can happen and to stay safe.

I encourage all residents to read this document which can be accessed online at https://www.qfes.qld.gov.au/community-safety/downloadlibrary/Documents/GetReadyGuide-E.pdf.  Alternatively pop into my office and grab a copy from my front counter.

Remember, we don't have to live in the bush to be threatened by bushfire, just close enough to be affected by burning material, embers and smoke. For Queensland residents, that can be just about anywhere, so being prepared has never been more important.
