Beachmere will recognize its community Resilience and celebrate some Recovery time after the February floods with a free R & R Party in Clayton Park, Beachmere.
Vixens of Fall, Plumb Dogs and The Zephyr Project are just some of the local bands donating their time, and their talent, to entertain during the afternoon.
Local community groups, led by U3A Beachmere, will organise the sausage sizzle and drinks stalls.
Market stalls have also been included with a large range of handmade craft and goods available.
BANG Committee member, Di Newell, said the event had been suggested by the community on social media and had received great support from everyone with costs subsidised by donations from local businesses, community groups and elected representatives.
“After a tough time for residents and the community, a Recovery & Resilience Party was overwhelmingly supported by residents and community groups,” Di said. “The event is still growing as more groups come on board and more people want to get involved.”
The Beachmere R & R Party will be held on Saturday, 7 May from noon to dusk at Clayton Park, Moreton Terrace, Beachmere with more info available from info@bang.org.au.
