Beachmere puts on a show

‘Fabulous Art Beachmere’ was another fabulous success this year with more than 50 artists and 160 works on display.

The Exhibition featured established artists, alongside artists and artisans entering an Exhibition for their very first time. Watercolours, pastels and acrylics sat beside photographs, mosaics and sculptures made from recycled materials.

The Gala & Awards Night was ‘sold out’, with Ali King, State Member for Pumicestone, commenting that it was a rare occasion for all levels of government to attend the same event, making the FAB Exhibition very special.

Mayor Peter Flannery, and representatives of major sponsor, GemLife, announced the overall ‘winner’ local artist, Fiona Enderman, with an encaustic piece ‘Closer to Stasis’. Presentations were made to a host of winners in various categories as well as ‘highly commended’ certificates.

FAB is a Beachmere Area Network Group event held annually in early August at the Beachmere Hub.
