From Jan Dwyer, GroupLeader, Bribie Island SES
Bribie Island SES Group with their vehicles, Boat and ATV.
The recent Moreton Bay Unit & Brisbane Region SES Award ceremonies saw the Group well recognised, receiving the Regional Operational Response of the Year for the outstanding response to the December 2020 Bribie Island severe weather event. Individual members received recognition for Group Member of the Year, Aspiring Leadership, Outstanding Service and Unit Member of the Year.
Several members also received the National Emergency Services Medals for their assistance during nationally significant emergencies.
Even though we do not volunteer for the awards, it is rewarding to be reminded that we are making a difference and helping our community.
