Caboolture Snakes Rugby Union Club Volunteer Values Award

Sione Lolohea has been recognised and awarded for his achievements as a dedicated coach at the Caboolture Snakes Rugby Union Club.

Member for Longman Terry Young recently visited the club for the presentation of Sione’s Cadbury Volunteer Values Award.

Sione, or Coach C as the kids call him, was recognised as one of the local winners of the Cadbury Volunteer Values Award receiving an individual award of $2500 and a club grant of $15,000. Sione was one of 10 nationwide volunteers selected by Cadbury to receive this award. “Sione Lolohea is a worthy recipient of the volunteer award as he is a great role model, instilling values of working together, mateship and celebrating both wins and losses,” Mr Young said. “Sione (Coach C) embraces everyone’s culture and brings the club together with his caring and gentle nature.

“The Caboolture Snakes Rugby Union Club was established in 1982 and over the past 30 years, I have seen the club grow from small beginnings to the current newly established building.

“The club was recently upgraded with the help of funding that I and the Coalition secured along with the state government, Caboolture Sports Club and the City of Moreton Bay council. The growth of this club has provided invaluable sporting connections and unparalleled health and wellbeing benefits for our community.

“This award and grant amplifies and recognises the great work and strong connections the club, volunteers and its coaches do within the community.”
