It is a rush of building activity at Palm Cove

Story and picture by Alistair Gray

All the new buildings looking down Comos Avenue towards Livistona Place

The hammers are banging, the concrete slabs are in the process of being laid, and the framing is going up. It is all action at Palm Cove!

After a long delay, building is finally underway, with about seven homes in varying stages of construction, starting to pop up like flowers in a field. It is great to see this premium Palm Cove development coming to life as we welcome the new homeowners to the Island. Unfortunately, like many in the construction industry, the various builders have been plagued with product shortages, supply issues and rapidly rising costs.

I spoke to David Young, Operations Manager, QM Properties, to get an update. “Stage one of the Palm Cove Development is well and truly complete with only a few properties available, and Stage two finished by the end of November”, said David. “Property sales have slowed, but prices have remained firm in the changing economic environment. In addition, early-stage work on Duck Creek and the 21-lot Marina precinct is ongoing”.
