On October 23 Bribie Island Rotary Club facilitated a walk to raise funds for Mental Health research.
Australian Rotary Health is one of the largest independent fundraisers of mental health research in Australia. Since 2000, Australian Rotary Health has focused its fundraising on mental health research and in 2012 this focus narrowed to the ‘Mental Health of Young Australians’. In 2022 research grants emphasising mental health of children ages 0-12 years.
On Sunday, October 23, a small group of Bribie Islanders walked under somewhat wet conditions from Brennan Park to the Bribie bridge and back. Bribie Rotary Club would like to thank that group for their participation. As this is an annual event, we were pleased that those who walked promised to join us again in 2023!
We would like to thank all those who registered for the walk, even if they did not walk on the day, who still donated their registration fee to Australian Rotary Health and look forward to another walk next year.
Because of the generous sponsorship of local Bribie Island businesses and individuals, our club has been able to provide almost $5000 towards research grants and post-doctoral scholarships studying ways to alleviate mental health problems in our community.
We look forward to 2023 when our Bribie Island Community can once more display its support for this very valuable cause.
THANK YOU ONE AND ALL from Bribie Island Rotary Club
